"I would like to record our thanks for the work of the team at The Spencer on Byron Hotel during our recent Australasian conference.
Initially I had concerns about the lower ceiling height in the meeting room however we have worked with twin screens for the past few conferences and find that together with eliminating the stage, the setup provides a more intimate feel for both delegates and speakers.
We chose Auckland as a low risk location because most of our suppliers who are the target for our associated trade display are based here and for delegates the air links are good across NZ and Australia.
Takapuna provided a good location, being just a few minutes from the city but being a more laid back resort style setting with the hotel guest rooms offering views back across to the city or to Takapuna beach and the opportunity for delegates to take a morning walk to the beach or Lake Pupuke.
Provided our conference operates in a similar format for future years we would have no hesitation in working with the Spencer on Byron Hotel for a future Auckland based conference.

The Konica Minolta National Sales Conference brings together 120+ delegates for a 2 day event in Auckland.
This year we chose to host our conference at The Spencer on Byron Hotel on Auckland’s North Shore. We saw the North Shore as a perfect location as it was out of the city but still within distance of other attractions and offsite venues.
Some may say the distance from the airport to the hotel is an issue particularly with guests arriving the day of their event, however with the venue positioned just across the Harbour Bridge and the majority of traffic heading into the city at this time, travel time to The Spencer on Byron Hotel is only 30 minutes.
The Spencer on Byron Hotel itself is a fantastic venue for conferences as it provides a range of rooms to suit any event. The staff are pleasant and all work together to provide their client with the best possible service – no matter their requirements. Accommodation is of a high standard and all rooms come with a magnificent view no matter its position within the building.
One thing I particularly like about the North Shore venues are their ability to work together. While I can appreciate many are competing for the same business they don’t let this get in the way and therefore are able to provide an overall destination to its clients.

"The Spencer on Byron Hotel was an excellent choice to assist us with an accommodation and the conference dinner for New Zealand Applied Neurosciences Conference 2012. Previously we have used the hotel just for accommodation purposes; however this year we have decided to also hold main social function of the conference – the conference dinner at the hotel as well.
Our invited speakers who came from all over the world were stunned by the view, atmosphere and service at the hotel. Big thanks to the helpful and friendly staff from the hotel that helped to assist our delegates for the duration of their stay. The conference dinner held went very smoothly and received a lot of positive comments from our delegates. All dietary requirements were taken care of, the meals were delicious and the live music provided a special atmosphere for the event.
We will definitely consider choosing this place again for future events.

"Mainfreight enjoyed the hospitality of The Spencer on Byron for their Branch Manager’s Meeting in March 2012.
With a team of approximately 75 attendee’s at the meeting and run over 3 days, from the initial check in to our final awards night, they made the meeting easy.
The team were friendly, and happy to help with anything they could.
The Chef was great and worked with our requests on the menu’s as they were catering for our 99% male apetite’s. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it.
The venue has a great location right in the heart of Takapuna, easy to get to, from North or South motorways, plenty of parking and minutes from the beach where we had some outdoor activities arranged for our team to participate in.
